When looking at a semi-tractor or trailer it is important to make sure that all options on the units are verified, as this could substantially affect the value of the unit when trying to decide if the vehicle is repairable or not.  The difference in the type of engine alone could drastically change the value of a unit.

Looking at heavy equipment can be challenging and rewarding as there is always something new that comes up.  An example of this is a recent inspection the we did on an early model Freightliner that ran over a mattress on the highway.  Seems simple right?  The mattress was wrapped around the drive shaft, shredding the mattress and causing severe damage to the undercarriage from the inner springs spinning at 3000 rpm.  The mattress had to be sawed off the drive shaft so we could see the damage on the unit.  Over the years we have been able to put together a large network of salvage yards and aftermarket facilities.  We have utilized this network to help us locate and use LKQ and aftermarket parts, which has helped in keeping the repair costs down.
